yoga for beginners combo *1

One of the things i enjoy most in my life is yoga. I have been doing yoga for the past 6 years but it has been an on / off relationship. To my dissapointment, mostly off. A few months ago i started again and promised myself i will never stop. It was kind of a strange period of my life and i needed something to take the edge off. I couldn’t really afford to go to a studio, neither had i known of a good one around.

I started looking around the web until i bumped on Pinterest again. I was still new to pinning so it was not my first choice at the time (if only i new…). Through searching and collecting, collecting and searching, i have gathered treasures. If you are looking to start doing yoga for the first time, or you have been off the mat for quite some time, I believe this collection can inspire you to get into it. It should also save you time from trying stuff that are not quite so good.

Let’s begin with two online videos that will balance you and at the same time get you back on track.

Love Yourself is a Gentle Yoga sequence that you can incorporate in your every day life. The best for me is to practice first thing in the morning or at night near your bedtime. Nicky Jones has a soothing sweet voice that will calm you and bring you back to balance. At the same time, you will get a good stretch and feel your blood flowing normaly again.

Beginner Basics In Flow is a vigorous Vinyasa Yoga flow that will challenge you a bit. The thing with that flow, is that it gives you the time through every move to find the proper alignment and feel the practice all over your body. Fiji McAlpine is an amazing teacher and you will understand that when you finish the class. The connection between body and mind at its best. You will feel alive, focused and each and every time you practice again, you will see your body evolve bit by bit. I keep on coming back to this class every now and then to check on myself and feel centered and focused once again.

A good thing to do when you start exercising in any way, is to check in with your nutrition. I will be getting further into to that in other posts, because i am really researching about it, but for now i will give you a link on what is best to eat before your yoga practice. Actually the same is also great to eat after your class as well.

The only thing i will not eat again before my yoga class is yogurt, after having tested all of the above. Maybe it is my stomach that cannot digest yogurt so quickly. However i love to eat it after i am done, especially with some oats and flaxseed and raisins or dried cranberries.

Some basic information to get you started..

How to avoid wrist pain in yoga / beginners yoga / www.topinornot.wordpress.com

yogic breath / beginners yoga / www.topinornot.wordpress.com

I believe that to find your breath is the one most important thing  and i have to admit that it has been difficult for me. If you need more info or practice on your breathing, you can also find some quick videos here (from doyogawithme.com again, i loooove this site). Also to learn how to share your weight on your hands is tricky but practice makes perfect.

Now i am a girl and i could not possibly end this post without some fashion, so there you go..

I hope with these information, that have been tried and approved from yours truly, you have saved time from searching and you can now make your own new beginning.

A new start, which will lead you to deeper sensations and experiences. Just don’t forget that persistence is the key.

Be aware of the present moment and let it guide you wherever you are supposed to go.
